Miss R Gets Baptized

Today was a very special day for Miss R.  Today she proclaimed to the world her faith in Christ by obeying Him in baptism.  She had been asking to be baptized for quite awhile, but we wanted to make sure she had a clear understanding of what baptism is about.  Every time we read about baptism in Scripture she would say, "Mommy, I believe in Jesus.  I should be baptized!"  She has a very clear understanding of her own sin and need for a Savior and that the Savior is Jesus.  So, we decided she was ready.

She was so excited for this day!  Here's the bulletin for today - it said "Baptism" under the 8:00am service.

My parents were able to come.  We had to be there very early - there were other people in the congregation when she was actually baptized. :)

Two other people got baptized this morning.  R was first! Here she's waiting for Pastor Larry to signal her to come in to the baptismal.  Once she was in, Pastor Larry introduced her and asked her if she had trusted in Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  She said, "Yes!" and then he baptized her - all the way under!

All done!  And very wet!

Dressed in dry clothes, happy as can be.

I'm so happy for you, Miss R, and I pray that you will be drawn even closer to Jesus now that you have obeyed Him in baptism.  I pray you will continue to grow in Him and love Him more and more.

Thank You Lord, for saving R and bringing her to Yourself.  Thank You for helping her to be brave today and obey You by showing the world she belongs to Christ.
In Jesus' Precious Name,
Amen

Baby G is 2!

Dear Baby G,
You turned 2 yesterday.  I suppose that I can no longer call you Baby G.  It's so hard to believe that we have had you in our lives for two years already.  You have blessed us more than you will ever know.  If you recall, your middle Thai name means "Survivor".  You proved true to your name once again this week!  It started with a cough, then a high fever (105.8!), two ER visits, and then one night in Children's Hospital.  You had pneumonia and were very dehydrated.  You wouldn't drink - I think your throat hurt.  Two antibiotics later, and lots and lots of prayer, and you are bouncing back to your normal, fun, active, self!
You are such a busy little boy - always jumping and running, swinging and bouncing.  You want to try anything your big brother does even if you're not quite ready!  You have a contagious smile and are talking very well.  You can sit well for books - your favorite being The Three Little Kittens and Goodnight Gorilla.  Your favorite Bible story is of Joshua and the walls of Jericho falling down.  You pretend to blow your trumpet with the priests and then "crash!" come the walls!!! You love balls and cars.  Your favorite thing to watch is "Snow" from White Christmas on YouTube.  You also like watching Gene Kelly sing "Singing in the Rain". You are such a delight to our family and we love you so very very much.  Happy 2nd Birthday, Big Boy G!
Love,
Mommy
