Jared and I used the excuse of our special guests coming to spruce up the house...to do some things we have been wanting to do for a long time, but just never got to. First Jared rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned our carpets. Since we were moving furniture anyway, we rearranged the living room. I wish I had before and after pictures somewhere, but the after will have to do. I love it. I can't believe how much bigger our living room seems this way.

| This is our school area. (Although we do a lot on the couch too!) My purse and diaper bag are hanging on a hook that I bought because I always hung them on doorknobs and it drove my poor hubby crazy! =) We also got the map on the wall from Menards. It is a giant wall sticker and comes with a dry erase marker. Should be fun to use it! |

| Then Jared painted the girls' bunk beds. The color is a light light blue. I think it looks beautiful! |
| The girls have been wanting wall stickers (since the boys have airplanes, it was only fair). They picked out these butterflies. R wanted something that looked "real" and not "cartoonish" since she's older now. They did all the work of arranging and placing. I think they did great! |
| And our main project was painting the kitchen. I love it so, so much! When we bought our house every wall was a peachy-neutral color. Not horrible. Great to move in to. But we were ready for a change. The color is called "Knight's Armor" and it is a bluish-gray. Very pretty in person...I don't think the picture does it justice. One wall we painted "Sweetened White" which adds some brightness. We added the words on top. Also, look at the two hooks under the shelves... |
| I use them as my Kindle Fire holder! I listen to music and use recipes on my kindle all the time, but I was always concerned about spilling on it. Now it is up and out of the way! |
| My favorite change is the curtains. Oh, what a difference they have made! I love love love them! |

Thanks Jared, for all the hard work you did making our home look pretty! And thanks to Gene and Mary for coming so we had an excuse to get this done!
